Thank you for visiting the Owatonna Public Schools’ web site. Our site has
been designed to provide you easy access to a host of news and information
about our schools. Across the top of our home page are a variety of
categories that will lead you through an interesting and informative journey
that describes our school District.
Our
mission is to, “…inspire all learners to excel in a dynamic society….” And
we hope to achieve it, “…by creating a world class education within an
innovative learning community”!
Each and every year we strive to live up to our mission to be innovative by
creating a world class education. This importance was reaffirmed by 95% of
our community this past fall in a random sample taken by our District. We’re
proud to be able to report this past year, our senior high students scored
above both the state and national average on the ACT examinations, we
implemented a widely recognized ‘classroom of the future’ through the
implementation of a one-to-one laptop program, and we had a number of our
athletic teams compete at the state level in various team competitions.
And, our senior high music programs received state and national
recognition. We’re living our mission!
